The Conflict Theory best represents American society. The importance of coercion, power, and individuals' abilities to influence and control others is highlighted by conflict theory (Andersen, 2020). Conflict theory places a strong emphasis on conflict and friction. According to conflict theory, society comprises several groups that vie for available economic and social resources (Andersen, 2020). Power is held in the hands of those with the most political, economic, and social resources, and social order is not maintained by consensus but by dominance (Andersen, 2020). Conflict theorists say that when consensus occurs, individuals come together around shared interests, frequently in opposition to other groups (Andersen, 2020).
